Amazon makes its AI-powered Alexa+ free on Fire TV, no Prime required
Amazon just made Alexa+ free on Fire TV for everyone. No Prime required. Here's why that matters for the AI assistant race.
Why it matters
Amazon is shifting Alexa+ from a paid/Prime-gated product to a free baseline on its hardware installed base, signaling confidence in the model and aiming to close the gap with OpenAI's ChatGPT and Google Assistant adoption. This is a distribution and pricing play — not a capability upgrade, but a major accessibility move that could reshape voice-AI market share.
